Muskingum University hosts Eisenhower Dance Ensemble

NEW CONCORD, OHIO - JANUARY 6, 2012 - The Muskingum University Faculty

Special Events Committee will host a performance by the Eisenhower Dance

Ensemble (EDE)  on Tuesday, January 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the Sandra Wolfe

Thompson Theatre of Philip and Betsey Caldwell Hall on the campus.

        This event is free and open to the public.

        The performance will include works by well-known choreographer

Harrison McEldowney, EDE Artistic Director Laurie Eisenhower and a work by

EDE dancer Alicia Cutaia.  A reception immediately follows.

        Eisenhower founded the ensemble in 1991 and has received numerous

accolades for her work, including the ArtServe Michigan Governor's Arts

Award.  The company has boasted works by internationally known

choreographers such as David Parsons, Lar Lubovitch and Stephen Koester,

among others.

        With support from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural

Affairs, the company has also collaborated with the Michigan Opera Theatre,

the Warren Symphony, the Immigrant Suns and the Rackham Symphony Choir on

Carmina Burana,  and the Motor City Lyric Opera and the Toledo Opera on

Amahl and the Night Visitors.
