Weather information for closing and delays at Muskingum University
With single digit weather temperatures, below zero wind chills, and typical Ohio snowstormsyou never know when school is going to be canceled and campus is going to be closed. If campus must close due to weather conditions, information can be found through severalmeans. Muskingum University’s radio station, WMCO 90.7, will announce weather-related closings anddelays. The closing and delays will also be aired on the following radio stations as well: WILE1270 AM, WILE 97.7 FM, WCMJ 96.7 FM, WBIK 92.1 FM, WWKC 105 FM, WBNV 93.5 FM, WHIZ102.5 FM, WHIZ 1240 AM. In addition, cancellations can be found on WHIZ TV. Another way to find out about weather-related closings or delays is through the MuskingumUniversity Weather Hotline. The hotline’s automated attendant can be reached by dialing (740)826-8188 followed by *3500. The hotline will be updated as early as 6:30 a.m. for students withearly morning classes. The Muskingum University Weather Hotline can also be used to find outabout cancellations of athletic events, computer lab and library services and other special eventshappening throughout campus. Announcements for evening graduate and MAP class cancellations will also be made at 2 p.m.on the Weather Hotline. According to the Muskingum University Weather Conditions Policy, “In general, as a service tostudents, the university will endeavor to operate even in inclement weather conditions. Officesand classes generally will continue to function since most students are residents on campus, andit is assumed that almost all of them can get to the dining halls, classes, and administrationoffices with little difficulty.” Students will also be notified to all campus closings through the Muskingum University TextAlert System. Students can register for META through the Muskingum University Website byclicking on Muskie Link in the top right corner of the website. This will take them to an external link that will explain the purpose of the META, at this pointstudents will then click on the button that says “click here.” At this point, students will click theSign up for Meta link on the left and follow the steps.
