The 5k Turkey Trot is scheduled for Nov. 20 of this year.

Relay for Life is sponsoring the event in a few weeks and there is expected to be a very good turnout for the occasion.

"It's something new," said sophomore Nathan Boston. "I usually don't do stuff like this but figured I would give it a try."

Relay for Life has played a large role in the fight for cancer and served as a tribute to all individuals that have won and unfortunately lost the battle with cancer.

"There isn't really a reason for running it," said Boston. "It was just something new and represented a good cause, so I figured I would give it a try."

For this Turkey Trot, sign-ups are to be sent via email to relayforlifemuskies@gmail.comwith your name, age, and t-shirt size. All entries will be $10 a person and along with your entry you will get a t-shirt.

"I run over at the Chess Center," said Boston. "I'm trying to get in shape so that I don't end up gassing out halfway through the race."

For this 5k, there are going to be group rates for groups that have 20 or more. At this point in time there is no reporting on how much the discount will be for these larger groups.

"I've been trying to get some of my friends to do it, they don't really seem interested" said Boston. "Running really isn't  their thing, I'm sure if there was a video game tournament, or a sitting on your butt tournament I'm sure they would be all for that. But running isn't really their thing so I'm pretty much on my own for this one."

Money is handled through the Business Office. Let them know that the money is for the Turkey Trot, and all checks should be made out to Muskingum University Relay For Life.

If there are any questions on this subject, then you can contact Erin Higham at ehigham@muskingum.edu.

If you have any more questions, want to join Relay for Life, or would like to see what it is all about, then the Relay for Life committee meets every Thursday at 7 p.m. in the TOC.
