"Rocksmith" is the first game to inter the gaming world that allows the plug in of a real guitar. This game is much like the game "Guitar Hero" but it has a realistic flow. The only things required to play are a guitar that has a standard ¼ inch jack that can plug into a cable, a television, and the game.

This game attracts people who have an interest in learning real guitar as well as the enjoyment of gaming. The main benefit is learning the guitar through addictive game play. After mastering a song on the game, the player can actually play the song in real life.

"I haven't actually played the game," said Brayden Bousque. "But from what I've seen from the commercials, learning to play the guitar might not be boring anymore.

Any guitar that can plug into an amplifier can plug into this game because Ubisoft, creators of "Rocksmith" developed a quarter-inch to USB cable. This cable was created specifically to aid in this games creation and is the first of its kind.

It is a convenience for many guitarists to have the ability to plug in their own guitar. It allows people to play with a guitar they already have a feeling for. This also saves money because customers do not have to purchase the whole package including the Epiphone Les Paul Jr. Guitar.

"When I first heard about the game I thought you had to purchase the whole package," said Tommy Patterson. "I didn't want to spend two hundred dollars to play the game but I've learned that I can just buy the game for eighty dollars and play my own guitar."

The game makes it easy to learn because of its difficulty options. To make sure a beginner guitar player doesn't feel overwhelmed with complex chords and difficult riffs, there are difficulty levels that start with simple notes. This allows a beginner to start on basic notes until they are comfortable moving towards more complex chords.

Every song is accurate to the way they are played by the actual artist so learning a song on the game can easily translate to a live personal show.

"I think it would be really cool to learn songs from this game," said Kenny Poland. "I've always wanted to learn how to play guitar and I feel that with the difficulty adjustments, I could eventually learn to play real songs."

Not only does this game teach you songs, it acts as a training aid. The game features mini games that could help practice scales and get your fingers used to the guitar. This feature is a nice complement to the learning aspect of the game.

This game "Rocksmith" is the beginning to a new gaming world with the advancement to a real life guitar as a controller. It is a fun, easy, and new experience for people who carry an interest in this type of game.

"It's really easy to follow and understand what to do," said Mercedes Tonnous. "My friends and I have a lot of fun taking turns and seeing who can get the best score."
