On Jan. 17 the Student Senate met to discuss the budget allocation meeting, the new executive board and new officer inductions.
Emily Cole, who is the Vice President of the Student Senate, spoke more about the meeting.
"The biggest thing this semester is that we have a new executive board," said Cole. "The point of order and the motions to adjourn and all that is new, so everyone's getting used to that."
The Senate has elected a new executive board including President Taylor Arnold, Vice President Emily Cole, Treasurer Deven Cruikshank, and Secretary Carter Eberwine.
Cruikshank announced that a meeting for all executive board members and all class treasurers would be taking place on Jan. 29 at 2 p.m. to discuss budget allocations for this semester.
"Allocations are coming up, so Senate allocates money to all the organizations," said Cole. "All the different organizations are preparing what they want to ask Senate for, as far as money for this semester."
Senior Michael Besl is theYearbook representative who also had some words on the budget allocations.
"It being January, we're going to have the budget allocations coming up, and the finance committees will meet and decide how much money to give to all of the organizations on campus," said Besl.
Different clubs get certain percentages each semester and the other clubs will debate on the amount of money they receive this semester.
Five new members were inducted as officers of Male and Female Greek Representatives, Sophomore class President, Sophomore Vice President, and CenterBoard representative.
Student Senate President Taylor Arnold inducted these members: Lindsay Ramseyer as Female Greek Representative, Rocky Wilson as Male Greek Representative, Rachel Lowe as Sophomore Class President, Shelby Milhoan as Sophomore Vice President and Miranda Koenig as CenterBoard Representative.
