Student Senate kicks off year

The first Student Senate meeting of the 2011-2012 school year took place Sept. 6 in the Chess Center. The meeting was called to order by President Michael Besl. Besl then led all in the Alma Mater. Roll call was taken by Secretary Adam Bird. The Treasurer's report was given by Emily Cole, and the Vice President report was given by Sarah Bradic.

"Senate is a group of students who represent the entire student body of Muskingum University. They are the voice of the student body to the administration."                                                                                                                                                                                   

Senate is also in charge of allocating the student activity fee money each semester.                                                                                                           

"They fund student organizations to allow them to do activities on campus," Waryck stated.

 

Vice President, Bradic is in charge of planning the Brewed Awakenings event, which takes place every Thursday evening in Kelley Coffee House.                                                                                                                                                                        

"Brewed Awakenings is a coffee house held by Student Senate once a week. Different groups can sponsor a night, and have whatever they would like for food/entertainment," Bradic stated.
