For the first time, WMCO is hosting an event during the men's basketball game against Marietta on Jan. 25, during WMCO Weekend.
This Halftime Takeover is to raise money for charity and encourage students to attend the game.
Sophomore John Clevinger, Music Librarian for WMCO, explained that the concept is simple.
"After you pay your dollar, you shoot a three pointer," said Clevinger. "If you make it, you get a five dollar gift card to Circle K. If you miss it, you can keep paying until you make one."
Along with this event to help charity, WMCO is doing a 50-50 to raise money for charity.
This year, Sports Director Chelsea Kaunert wants to add a little more to this basketball game.
"Since the game is so big, Marietta is pretty good, it would be kind of cool if we had all of the students come out and support the Muskies," said Kaunert. "I feel like a lot of people like sports, and sports is a good way to get a bunch of people together."
In hopes of helping pump up the Muskies before their match against Marietta, Clevinger and Kaunert also hope to work out a fun pregame cookout.
The charities that are benefiting from Halftime Takeover are The American Red Cross Association, Muskingum County Animal Shelter and Operation Feed. All of the events for WMCO Weekend will give their contributions to these organizations.
